Access Information from JR Nagano Station to Shiga Kogen
Option 1: Nagaden Bus ‘Shiga Kogen Express Bus’
From Nagano Station, board the express bus bound for Shiga Kogen at Bus Stop No. 23 on the East Exit of Nagano Station. The journey takes approximately 70 to 90 minutes, depending on your destination within Shiga Kogen.
- Fare: ¥2,200 to ¥2,500 per adult, depending on the destination.
- Payment: Tickets can be purchased on the bus or at the JR Nagano Ticket Counter.

Option 2: Traveling from Nagano to Shiga Kogen via Yudanaka by train
You can also consider taking the scenic train ride through picturesque Nagano countryside by using Nagano Electric Railway's Limited Express service to Yudanaka Station.
- Travel Time: Approximately 45 minutes
- Frequency: Multiple services available throughout the day.
- Fare: ¥1,290 for adults (as of July 2025)
Upon arrival at Yudanaka Station, you can transfer to a local bus that will take you directly to Shiga Kogen. The bus ride offers convenient access to various ski areas and accommodations within the resort.
Local Transportation
- Once in Shiga Kogen, free shuttle buses are available with a valid lift pass, covering all ski areas.
- Fare-based buses also operate from Yudanaka Station to Shibu Onsen, Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, and various ski areas within Shiga Kogen.
- No Night Shuttle: There is no night shuttle service, and there are no taxis. Getting around in the evening is by foot or with a ride from your accommodation.
