Skiing since age 4 and teaching for over a decade, Rafal is a passionate outdoor educator and expert in Japan’s backcountry terrain. Since 2017, he’s been guiding in Shiga Kogen and surrounding regions, helping guests find fresh powder and build confidence on the slopes.
Off-season? You’ll find him windsurfing, climbing mountains, rafting, or paragliding. He’s always chasing adventure.

Who We're Looking For

We're searching for experienced ski and snowboard instructors and certified mountain guides who are passionate about sharing their skills and creating unforgettable guest experiences in Japan.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • Fluent English for clear, engaging instruction.
  • International Driving License to navigate between resort locations.
  • Off-Piste & Avalanche Knowledge, prioritizing safety in all conditions.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills to build trust and positive energy on the slopes.
  • Dual-discipline ability (ski + snowboard) is a strong plus.
  • Eligibility for Japanese Working Holiday or Sponsored Visas: Candidates must be eligible for either the Japanese Working Holiday visa or one of the sponsored visas. Sponsored visa requirements include being a member of one of the ski associations listed here or having a minimum of 36 months experience as an instructor.
